The adventure started in high school, when we first met each other.  Being 15 years old, the only thing on our mind was the possibility of starting summer vacation with a boyfriend/girlfriend and determining how to convince our parents to drop us off at the movies for a date.  Little did we know that 9 years later, we’d have survived high school graduation, 4 years of long distance in college, Chris would propose, Julie would say yes, we would get married, move to a new city, and buy our first house.  Phew!  How time flies!

We’re excited to share with you the exciting (and terrifying!) journey home ownership has brought upon us.  Follow Julie’s journey through redesigning the house room-by-room and Chris’ journey in turning her vision into reality (and all the nitty-gritty work that goes behind it) in a his versus her styled blog.  We hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do!

I absolutely love your blog. I scared the (sleeping) dogs a few times w/my embarrassingly girly giggle outbursts but they quickly recovered. Julie – you realize all of us DIYer types share the exact same chromosomal make up yes? This internet thing is really just a modern looking glass. Chris – of all the blogs I’ve come across never have I seen the guy who does the work (read: gets blamed for the mistakes) have a say so – or a grasp of the English language for that matter. THIS is what makes your blog unique and so endearing. I tried to find you on FB and came across some odd Japanese folks. Since I assume Google Translate isn’t THAT good, they aren’t you. Sigh ~ settling for this as a means of communication to give kudos.

You are too sweet, Deanna. Glad you’re liking the blog and finding humor in our escapades. We’ve had a good time figuring this out as we go! 🙂 And, yes, I agree, there’s got to be a DIY chromosome. That’s my newest excuse to Chris when he argues that we have too many projects going on simultaneously! Thanks for stopping by!

I just finished reading your entire blog over the last few days, like a book about 2 favourite characters, I couldn’t put it down (orrr close my laptop, as it were) so much design inspiration, determination and I love all the personality in both of your writing. It’s a blogging breathe of fresh air and a delight to read for a beginner diy’er like myself ^_^ Anyways, when are you posting more? Can’t wait to read about your next adventure! Cheers from Canada

This was such a sweet note, Korina, and is what helps inspire us to keep blogging. I can’t thank you enough for leaving such a thoughtful comment- this really meant a lot to us. Life’s been a little nuts for the two of us recently but we’re hoping to post more soon so you can keep getting your DIY fix from us. 🙂
